The Hill Country Bicycle Touring Club was organized in 2000 as a recreational organization for cyclists of all abilities. Throughout the year we offer regular weekday rides in the morning and evening at various places to meet many needs. Longer rides are offered on weekends. Most of our rides are leader led where we stay together in groups. Maps may be available for riders who want to ride at their own pace. Usually we will meet at a nearby restaurant after the ride to socialize. They’re a great way to meet other club members and keep in touch with club events.
Over time the club evolved into more than just a cycling club; becoming interested in other types of adventures also. The club now has adventures ranging from cycling to camping to travel to cruising and other non-cycling activities. so in 2018, the club was renamed to the Hill Country Bicycle Touring and Adventure Club

Overnight Tours: Central Texas is an excellent location for bicycle touring. The club offers many weekend camping and hotel tours suitable for both beginner and advanced members. Often these trips include kayaking and hiking.

- LBJ 100 Bicycle Ride at the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park
- South Central Texas Tour de Cure Ride in San Antonio, Texas
- A Ride to Remember in Poth, Texas
- Conquer the Coast Ride in Corpus Christi, Texas
- Mission to Mission Ride in San Antonio, Texas
Special Events: Each year the club hosts the Fredericksburg Fall Foliage Frolic weekend where cyclists from all over the country get together to enjoy riding in the Texas Hill Country. Also, the club offers a century (100 mile) ride to its members.
Monthly Club Meetings: Nearly every month the club holds a membership meeting to get together and share information. Frequently we will have a program with a guest speaker. Programs in the past have included video shows of bicycle tours, parties and speakers from other cycling organizations. Click here to view minutes of past meetings.
Beginner Training: Each year the club offers beginners with a series of training rides to learn the basics and get in shape for longer more challenging rides.
Discounts at Bicycle Shops: Many local bicycle shops offer members a 10 percent discount on parts and accessories. Check with your favorite shop to see if they offer a discount.
Dues: Membership fees are collected in January for the Calendar Year rather than annually unless you are a new member joining mid-year. Dues are $1.00 per month per household or $12.00 for one Calendar Year unless paying for multiple years. For example, if you are joining / renewing in June, to complete the Calendar Year 2016, you would pay $7.00 (June plus six more months); if you wanted to also pay for an additional two years, you would pay $30.00 (the $7.00 for 2018 plus the $23.00 for the two-years renewal). In doing that, you would be paid up through December 2020. Please see the rate schedule in the drop-down list below. When paying with PayPal, members joining October through December will be charged $3.00 as transaction costs are more than the 1 or 2 dollar charges.
